Bio
Early Years
He picked up the bass at the age of 14 after previously had a contact with the classic and electric guitar. During his early years of experience he joined several fusion alt and rock bands up to the age of 22.
Education
1989-1993 private lessons with the Y. Fakanas. 1991-1992 ear-training courses with the B. Rakopoulos. Berklee College of Music: Jazz Improvisation course be Gary Burton (2014). Numerous Clinics and Master Class Seminars covering subjects from Improvisation to Music Technology to Instrument Care & Maintenance (Adam Nussbaum, Andy Middleton, Jimmy Savage, Vinnie Moore, Petros Klambanis, Yoel Soto ect).
In step with his musical activities has studied chemist in the Athens University
Activities
Since 1989 works occasionally as session studio musician with artists from various musical styles such as: Antonis and Yannis Vardis, P. Pliatsikas, Rififi, P. Asteriades, K. Chomatas, A.Terzis, N.Chatzopoylos and many others. Also has also taken part in an abundance of instrumental projects of easy listening, folk and ethnic music etc, so much as a bass player as well as a programmer- arranger.
• He has been gigging in hundreds of concerts all over Greece with bands of the alternative rock scene (Flowers of Romance, Slow Motion, EXIS ect),as well as with entertaining cover bands (Make My Day, The Down Town Beat, ect),
• As a composer and arranger: in collaboration with S. Mouflouzelis under the name “Les Ombres” with the projects Broken Wings (1991),Traveling (1992), Night Flight (1994), Nisos (2021) in the style of lounge, ambient και ethnic music.
Member of SEPTEMBER CODE since 1998. Also a member of Treep Inn jazz – fusion trio
As a Tutor
In addition to his musical activity he teaches electric bass in Conservatories and in private since 1992, having developed a personal method of teaching, that is based on the one hand on the modern perception of music and on the other in the wide use of modern technology (computer, sequencers and special programs). As a result of this is his book BASS from Intro in Coda – 2 volumes
Since 2000 he teaches in the Musical Praxis Conservatory
Since 2001 he is a member of Registry of Guitar Tutors with dozens of succesful students in all Grades and in Teaching Diploma Courses
